ABOUT LDP

Biography

___LDP was formed around March of 2006 by the students of Colegio San Agustin, Makati. The Lyrically Deranged Poets, R-jay, Abra and Alex, were in third year high school at that time. Originally starting out with five emcees, LDP got together during the summer to write and record rap music. Because the crew didn't have much budget and experience in the music business, they decided to buy an ordinary microphone and use free beats on the internet for their songs. Upon stepping in fourth year high school, LDP started to perform their music in CSA. One of the songs that people were fond of was God Forgive Me, which talks about one's pity upon himself for his shortcomings as a human being and how he asks God for forgiveness. Some other songs which they performed in school include They Can't, a single about love; and Suliranin, which focuses on the social problems in the Philippines with regard to the poor. LDP performed in various school events and was given more exposure during the CSA fair.

___LDP entered the hip-hop scene during the summer of 2007 when they participated in The Community, a weekly gathering of hip-hop people in the Philippines in order to showcase their talents. The crew performed songs like Look Closer and Tagalog O Ingles during The Community and their music was welcomed by the people. LDP's style varies with each emcee. R-jay, formerly known as P.O.E.T.3 (Passionate Outspoken Emcee Times 3), uses a smooth flow for rapping and also sings for songs like They Can't and You Just Can't See. Abra, formerly known as 2DZ, uses a fast-paced flow mixed with a deranged rhyme scheme, and prefers to spit his lines in Tagalog. Alex, formerly known as Madbull, uses a versatile flow with deep, heartfelt lyrics and clever punch lines. Each emcee has his own distinctive flow and lyrical style; but together they form a smooth blend of hip-hop harmony. LDP not only focuses on the hip-hop aspect itself to make their music; but rather uses rap music to freely talk about the more fundamental aspects of life. LDP will be releasing their first independent album, The Project EP, before the end of 2007.
